Ciara, Dasan, and Ianthe

Ciara Black

It had been forever since she had visited the tavern. So, much had happened since the first time she had stumbled through these doors. Funny how despite the time away it still felt like an old pair of shoes. The ones that got buried in the back of the closet but once you find them you wondered how you let them get lost in the first place. She appeared in the tavern sitting at a table that allowed her to see outside. her long leg crossed as she leaned back in the chair looking around. It seemed a bit dead at the moment. "Harry, can I get a sweet tea?"

Dasan Black

Not long after Ciara entered the tavern, Dasan followed suit, He stood by the door for a few moments, glancing around. The place seemed empty. He remember a time when it was always pulsing with life. Oh, how times have changed. Yet, there was Harry tending the bar like always. He heard that for a moment he wasn't there. This made him glad he didn't decide to visit sooner. He moved towards where Ciara was sitting. "Can we get an extra lemon with that."

Ciara Black

Offering a quick smile to her husband as he entered and her drink was placed upon the table. Even if she was still a bit miffed at his refusal to talk about his past she did love the dork. She just wanted to throttle him from time to time. "Your daughter has taken to adopting hellhounds or should I say stealing them from others."

Ianthe Koryne

~ She's never been to this place before, truth be told she's not entirely sure what brings her to appear within the establishment in the first place. Nevertheless in the space of time it would take a person to blink, the red haired faerie appeared seated upon the counter. Much to the annoyance of the tender, whom may or may not have scowled at her. She peered around the room quietly. ~

Dasan Black

There was no reason to talk about his past. It couldn't be changed nor would revisiting it somehow affect the future. It was what it was, and he rather spend his time talking about other things than his past. He didn't get her obsession. No, that was a lie. He got it. "She can't steal what belongs to her, love." His eyes flicker towards the red haired that just appeared. "Look love, a cousin."

Ciara Black

It made you who you are now. Knowing the ast could help you to understand so many things. He was just a pain. "They do not belong to her." Between him and his father it was a wonder her daughter had any morals. Her eyes flitted to Ianthe for a moment before blinking. "Not all red heads are related to me."

Ianthe Koryne

~ A puzzled expression graced Ianthe's face, confused blue eyes flitting towards Dasan. ~ I do not believe we are related simply because we have the same hair colour. ~ They couldn't be related, she was fae and something told her the other redhead was not. ~

Dasan Black

Like what? He was pretty certain that anything she needed to know could be found out without looking at the past. Well, that was true, but he was pretty certain it was his so called 'being a pain' personality that she fell in love with. "Whom fed you that lie?" He smirked at their words. "Oh, look you agreed. Must be distant cousins."

Ciara Black

Like a million things. And she was never giving up. It hurt that he didn't want to share with her. She wanted to know his life as well as he knew hers. She simply rubbed her eyes the more she protested the more he was going to insist.

Ianthe Koryne

~ Her mouth fell open and she gaped at him, for a full minute before she snapped it shut and swivelled her attention upon Ciara. ~ Is he always like this? ~ Her confused expression was now a strange mix of amusement and befuddlement. At least until she shook her head and pulled her attention towards the Tender. ~ Could I have a glass of pineapple juice? ~ As soon as she made the request she's looking at the others again. ~

Dasan Black

She did know is life. He was sharing it with her. He wouldn't have married her if he hadn't wished for her to know his life. "Love, most days I'm worst." He grabbed Ciara's sweet tea and swiping that extra slice of lemon and sitting it before her.

Ciara Black

She wanted to know everything. EVERYTHING. The thought had her looking a little shifty eyed as she glanced at the other woman. "Just wait till he starts trying to buy your soul." She said as her eyes glanced towards Dasan as he took the lemon from her tea. At least he hadn't stolen her whole tea.

Ianthe Koryne

My name's Ianthe. Not love. ~ She corrected him without missing a beat, her fingers curling around the glass Harry set on the counter beside her. ~ Perhaps my soul isn't for sale. ~ She added after swallowing a sip of the fruity drink. ~

Dasan Black

"Love, when did I make the impression that I thought your name was love or if upon learning your actual name that I would stop referring to you as such?" He didn't wait to hear her response before turning his eyes towards Ciara. "Love, stop revealing my secrets." There were plenty of things he wanted, but he could never have. "Everything is for sale" He told Ianthe. "It's just a matter of finding the right price."

Ciara Black

"That is what I am here for to give away all your secrets." The slightest smirk forming on her face as she raised her glass to her lips. "Hello, I am Ciara by the way."

Ianthe Koryne

~ Her lips pressed into an expression of displeasure, eyes narrowing upon Dasan. It only lasted a moment before she's offering a smile towards Ciara. ~ Nice to meet you. ~ Another slurp of juice was taken, her head tilting to one side. ~ Can I have a slice of cake mister tender? ~ She chirped, adding after a moment. ~ Not everything. Some things can't be bought.

Dasan Black

He smirked at that expression of displeasure that found it way onto Ianthe's face as if he was saying 'Look, I know how to push your buttons.' He glanced towards Ciara. "And you wonder why I like keeping a few things to myself, love." He laughed at Ianthe "Who fed that line of bull?"

Ciara Black

It would appear Das found someone to play with. Of course that wasn't really new. He always found something to entertain himself. "Bah." She told him with a snort before nodding her head at Ianthe's words.

Ianthe Koryne

~ She wanted to throw something at him, insufferable male. Only the fact her glass wasn't empty yet kept her from chucking it at his head. Her eyes lit up when the cake she'd asked for got placed in front of her. Her fingers grabbing the fork to dig in. She pauses only to squint at Dasan. ~ It's common sense.

Dasan Black

When haven't Dasan found someone to play with? Pretty sure, he could walk into an empty room and find someone to play with. She could throw that glass at him. Hell, she would if she was Ciara. His firecracker had thrown more than her fair share of glasses--both full and empty---at him. He smiled at Ciara. "Glad you can admit I am right." He reached over and swiped some of Ianthe frosting. "I think you are mistaking common sense for something else."

Ciara Black

It was true. She threw things at him all the time. Whatever she happened to have on her at the moment. She listened to the conversation between the two of them sipping her tea.

Ianthe Koryne

~ She frowned, smacking at his hand when he attempted to steal the frosting from her cake. Though the look on her face said she'd rather stab him with the fork. And she wasn't usually violent. But, nobody came between Ianthe and her sweets. ~ Oh yeah? And what would that be?

Dasan Black

The smacking of his hand did nothing to deter him. Hell, stabbing him with a fork probably would have done nothing to deter him. "How close are you to throwing that glass at me?" He leaned forward as if he was sharing a great secret, but he did not whisper. "One time Ciara threw a gun at me. Well, the bullets, but who's counting?" He sat back down. "That's something you have to figure out. I'm forbidden from telling."

Ciara Black

He would probably tell the fae to stab him harder truth be told. It would be his next words that would cause the red head to speak again. "I didn't throw them at you. I shot them at you." Really like she would just fling a bullet. What would the point be to that?

Ianthe Koryne

~ She gave him the 'are you for real?' Look. ~ How did you know I wanted to throw a glass at you? And leave my damn cake alone before I stab you with this fork. ~ Waves said eating utensil at him threateningly. ~ How do you put up with him? ~ This question was of course aimed at Ciara. The fae girl honestly couldn't figure it out. ~

Dasan Black

"Throw. Shot. Same thing." She might. One shouldn't assume what someone might do, And the point would to take him by surprise, or try to. Most people wouldn't expect someone to throw a bullet. "Lucky guess. I'm irresistible. Promise?" He reached out again, this time aiming to steal a piece of her cake instead of just some of the frosting. "For my pretty face. She's weak for blue eyes."

Ciara Black

"It isn't the same." She told him with a frown. "He grows on you." Wa the only answer she gave on how she put up with him. However, she would look up letting out a slight yawn. "I think I should get going. Duty and then perhaps bed calls. It was a pleasure." She said with a bow. Before glancing at Das. "See you at home later." And with that she was gone.

Ianthe Koryne

~ She honestly wasn't sure that the annoying male was capable of growing on people, maybe Ciara just had the patience of a saint... Though considering she shot him. Maybe not. ~ Oh! Bye! ~ She waves after Ciara as the woman disappeared before actually stabbing Dasan with the fork. Hey. One shouldn't make idle threats. ~ Irresistibly annoying maybe. Get your own cake damn it.

Dasan Black

"Yes, it is." He was very capable of growing on people---like a bad fungus that you end up becoming extremely fond of. "I'll see you later." He stole a kiss from Ciara before she was off. He merely mouth the word ouch in a manner that made it clear he was not at all in pain before swiping that entire piece of cake and stuff it into his mouth. "I much rather have yours"

Ianthe Koryne

~ Her eyes narrowed with irritation, he just...he stole her... She couldn't even complete the thought in her head. Without even thinking about it she snatched up a glass, not her own because she was still drinking out of it. No this one she took right out of Harry's hand and threw it point blank at the pain in the backside, aimed for his head. Then she turned a pout on the tender. ~ He stole my cake.

Dasan Black

Yes, yes he did and he didn't even feel guilty about it. That smirk that found itself upon his face yet again confirmed this much or it might be that it was allowing her to know he knew what she was going to do next. "I know you wouldn't be able to resist." He told her when that glass struck him. He didn't even move out of the way. "Do you want it back?"

Ianthe Koryne

Ew. No. Not now that you've chewed it up. ~ She huffed, keeping her gaze on Harry as her eyes seemed to beg the tender for a replacement. ~ You're a pain in the ass. ~ She flailed, flinging the fork at him too for good measure. It wasn't like she could use it anymore anyway. After stabbing him with it. ~

Dasan Black

"Love, for the right price I can make it so I never ate the cake in the first place" He shrugged his shoulder at her words. "So, everyone tells me. I rather think y'all have a low tolerance for man." He caught that fork.

Ianthe Koryne

I tolerate men just fine. They aren't all as irritating as you. ~ Sticks her tongue out at him. ~ And I'm not your love. ~ Flails again and only settles now when an imp climbs onto the bartop to give her a cupcake. ~ Please. I know better than to barter with you. You'd want something that shouldn't be sold. ~ Munches the cupcake before he stole that too. ~

Dasan Black

*pain not man

Dasan Black

"I aim to please." He just laughed at her words. "Oh love if I actually held any romantic feelings towards you Ciara wouldn't have been as friendly towards you as she was. That one is rather jealous." She eyed the cupcake, debating if he could swipe it before she managed to munch upon it. "Yet, it doesn't stop people from selling it. However, I don't always have to barter for your soul. I'm quite capable of bartering for other things."

*he

Ianthe Koryne

Ugh. You're insufferable. ~ She squinted at him. ~ I don't even like you. No reason to be jealous of little old me. ~ She scooted back out of reach when she caught him eyeing her cupcake and finished it off as fast as she possibly could. ~ Souls aren't the only things that shouldn't be sold. And besides. I don't trust you.

Dasan Black

"I know." He laughed at her words. "So? Jealousy has nothing to do with your personal feeling. It's all boils down to what the jealous person believes." He wasn't going to swipe her cupcake. He would have by now if that was intention. "You don't have to trust me. You just have to want something more. The real challenge is figuring what that thing is." He could just ask her, but he doubted she was just going to tell him.

Ianthe Koryne

~ She relaxed a fraction once she'd finished eating her sweet treat, without having this one stolen. Picking up her half finished drink to down the rest of it. ~ And what makes you think I want anything from you? ~ She arched an eyebrow. Saying nothing on the comment of jealousy and feelings. ~

Dasan Black

"Not me per se, but there might be something you want bad enough that you don't care whom provides it for you. That's what I do. I provide people with their heart's most desire. For a price. I wouldn't be a good businessman if I did everything for free. " There was nothing for her to say to that. She can't really tell him that he was wrong. He had dealt with Ciara's jealousy more than enough time. It never boiled down to what the other person felt. Most of the time, she was jealous because she believed he liked the other person.

Ianthe Koryne

I doubt I'd be desperate enough to make those kinds of deals. ~ She lifted one shoulder in an idle shrug. ~ If I want something there are always other, better ways of gaining it. ~ She slid down off the bartop and leaned against it instead. Fixing him with a look that dared him to argue with her. ~

Dasan Black

"Yet. You never know what tomorrow might bring. One day you might wake up to find yourself more desperate than you might believe." If she had thought he wouldn't meet that dare head on she would be mistaken. He leaned back into his chair. "Better is a matter of opinion. Sure, you might find a way that doesn't make you indebted to me, but it might cost you something that you put at more value than what I was charging."

Ianthe Koryne

~ She rolled her eyes with a soft huff. ~ Please. Not everything has a cost. Besides, you're operating under the assumption that I'm not completely satisfied with my life the way it is.

Dasan Black

"Everything does have a cost. No, I am operating under the assumption that your life can go to shit just like that." He snaps his finger when he said those words. (edited)

Ianthe Koryne
People get out of tough situations without selling their soul or making bargains all the time. ~ She folded her arms stubbornly across her chest, not willing to give in on this one. Or perhaps she just didn't want to concede a point to someone as annoying as him. Both maybe? ~

Dasan Black

"That might be, but there are some situation people can't get out on their own. They require outside help." It didn't matter to him if she conceded his point. Just as it didn't matter if she liked him. He wouldn't have gotten half as far as he did if he put any stock into those things.

Ianthe Koryne

And there are people that will help a person without wanting anything from them. ~ She'd seen it happen before, usually amongst family units. They had each others backs without the need for payments or debts or anything of the sort. ~

Dasan Black

"Everyone has a price for their help. You just don't always think about paying it." Family helped each other out for the promise of that favor being returned in the future. It might not never be said or they might claim that was what family did, but at the end of it all they would leave each other hanging if they thought each of them would just leave them neck deep in shit if their roles were reversed.

Ianthe Koryne

That's such a cynical line of thought. ~ She mumbled, shaking her head and pushing the strands of red hair that fell into her face back behind her ear. ~ Whatever happened to believing in basic kindness and caring?

Dasan Black

"I look at it as being more of a realist, love." He laughed at her words, taking a drink of the sweet tea that Ciara left upon the table. "Let me guess you think that if we all hold hands and sing kumbayah that there will be world peace?"

Ianthe Koryne

I'm not an idiot. ~ She narrowed her eyes upon him, folding her arms. There might be some within their world that were convinced they could fix the world with love alone. But she wasn't one of them. ~ Just because I believe people can be kind, simply because they are kind doesn't mean I believe in something as untenable as world peace. Ugh. You make me so frustrated. ~ She started pacing, as if she were suddenly restless. It wouldn't take much more for her to bolt out of the door and into the snow outside. As she wasn't all that keen on snow. Being a Spring Fae. ~

Dasan Black

"I was thinking more idealistic, but if you want to go with idiot more power to you." He didn't know what she believed. For all he knew she could be one of those people that thought the world could be fix with love alone. Her words didn't mean she didn't believe in such thing. It just meant that if she did believe it she wasn't ready to admit it. "If people can be kind for the sake of kindness alone than why is world peace so untenable? I rather think the latter would be possible if everyone lived by the former, don't you think?" He watched her pace around. Perhaps, he even sensed her desire to bolt. How much more would it take to push her over the edge.

Ianthe Koryne

Because not everyone is kind. People can be cruel just as easily as people can be kind. In order to gain--- You know what never mind. ~ She'd suddenly grown weary of this conversation, cutting the sentence off when she was about to point out everyone would have to be kind to achieve world peace and instead stalking towards the door and out of the tavern. Just before the door fell shut he might just hear the grumbled words... ~ Son of a bitch it's cold out here...

Dasan Black

"No, they aren't. However, if it is possible for one person to be kind for kindness' sake than it is possible for everyone and if it is possible for everyone than world peace is attainable. If everyone doesn't have the capacity to be kind than that just proves that kindness for it's sake alone is just a fantasy ." She was only growing weary because he was making points she could not argue, or at the very least challenging how she saw things. People didn't like it when their worldview were shaken in some manner.  He watched as she fled into the cold. He wasn't certain if she heard his words. It didn't even matter. He finished his tea before heading out himself.
