Nydia Reynolds [6:19 PM]
It had been years since her father's death and since she started learning to defend herself. That day had caused a ripple effect through her life and now it continued. But it was his strange return this time. She had spent so many hours within the dojo both by herself and with her teacher. At this moment she was by herself hitting the practice bag through her mind didn't seem into the action more like an auto response than anything.
Makariy Mazer [6:30 PM]
Michael leaned against the wall watching Nydia absent mindlessly hit that bag before her. How long he been there was anyone's guess. The only thing was clear that Nydia had been unaware of his presence. This alone was not shocking. He often entered and left a room without her being aware. He had a habit of doing such a thing to many people. His movement was silent. Too silent Nydia would often times say. This was a sentiment that many of his students share. It was, also, one of the things they were eager to learn how to do. He turned his attention back towards the present, watching Nydia's movement. "You need to put all your energy into the punch."
Nydia Reynolds [6:36 PM]
She most certainly wasn't paying attention. The sound of a voice broke her spell and the bag flew back towards her knocking her over as she hit the floor blinking. "Phooey. I have no energy." She replied mumbling.
Makariy Mazer [6:41 PM]
"If you have no energy you would not be moving now." He informed her. He didn't bat an eye over the fact she had been knocked down. As a teacher he had seen such a thing happen many times before. More than that he had been teaching Nydia long enough to know she was no worse for wear.

(Oh, before I forget my manager at work has a rabbit and a cat that *loves* each other and they are both male. I don't know why I find it to be really adorable. I mean aside for the fact one is an evil rabbit, of course.)
Nydia Reynolds [6:47 PM]
She snorted at his words from where she sat. Dumb bag. She actually glared at it before turning her attention back to the conversation. "Have yo ever considered that fate is kind of a fucked up prick?" She meant in general though the guy was a little bit of a prick at times.
(Yes evil.)
Makariy Mazer [6:48 PM]
(But, you know evil things need soulmates too.)

(Rabbits are cute and fluffy. But that is adorably amusing.)
Makariy Mazer [6:48 PM]
(It is. She says they try to mount each other all the time.)
It was not the bag's fault she wasn't paying attention. He had told her more often than he could recall not to let herself get distracted. "You just realized this?" He pushed himself from the wall and moved closer to her. "What's the matter?"
Nydia Reynolds [6:56 PM]
"My father is an evil dictator." She said these words as if that explained everything.
Makariy Mazer [7:03 PM]
"Is he?" Those whom didn't know him might have taken his tone to be apathetic, but those whom did know him would realize if he didn't care he simply wouldn't have said anything. He often told his students that getting emotional himself will not help them work through their emotions. Sometimes all a person needs was an ear to speak to not a mouth to receive advice from.

Nydia Reynolds [2:49 PM]
"Yes. Sort of. It is complicated. Hell everything in my life is complicated I could just go buy an island and live the rest of my life all quiet like. But nope I would never do that. What does that say about me? Instead I'll try and sort through the mess. Damn sometimes I am an idiot."
Makariy Mazer [2:54 PM]
"I'm sure that it is, but perhaps talking about it will make it less so." Did he care to hear about it? The answer was yes, but only if she was willing to share. He was never the type of man to force someone to open up to him. It was probably why many of his students did--especially those whom tended to be closed lipped. "It says you aren't the sort for isolation. You're not an idiot."
Nydia Reynolds [3:04 PM]
"Perhaps. You know how well my father had powers that allowed him to borrow a body from another place. Like he would be inside of them. But this Godking as his people call him realized it. And somehow he began to figure out how to do the reverse. So, when my father was killed it seems a part of him merged with this man. So he is but is not. Does that make sense?" She was having a hard time wrapping her mind around it herself.
Makariy Mazer [3:10 PM]
He had a feeling that it wasn't just this she was finding hard to come to term with, but with the idea that her father---in some form--was alive. She had just come to term with his death. One would never know it by looking at her, but his death had hit her hard. She had been close to her father. One just had to listen to her when she spoke of him and they could hear it clearly within her voice. "It makes sense." It did in some strange ways. He wouldn't begin to explain how such a thing might have happened. He was not familiar with that power through he did have ideas. "What are you going to do?"
Nydia Reynolds [3:25 PM]
She was indeed and this man was nothing like her father. "He is cruel and so not like my father who tried to not hurt people. Not to me though it seems enough of my father is there that it trickled over into caring about me. I think I actually helped this guy who is suppose to stop him get to that world. It was kind of a whim to help him find his sister before I knew everything but I probably still would have helped." She said with a sigh running her fingers through her dark hair. "That is indeed the question."
Makariy Mazer [3:33 PM]
Michael never knew her father. She had came to his dojo after his passing. He only had her words, and while he didn't think Nydia would lie in regard of whom her father was he realize there were aspect of him that she never saw. He might have done things he wasn't proud of--things he didn't want her to see. Everyone had as the saying went skeletons within their closet. "Perhaps, more of your father is in there than that." Or perhaps the merging was not yet complete. Who knows how long such a thing took. Did it happen within a single moment or was it years of fighting as each personality tried to seize dominance. "Knowing you, you would have. You have never been the sort to turn a blind eye to those in need." He said nothing to her last words. There was nothing that needed to be said. It was a question only she had the answer to.
Nydia Reynolds [3:53 PM]
"I don't know. My friends can do something like what my father can do. They might know more though the man who made an art of studying that power is dead. Not that I would go to him." Rhirel was the last person one should ask for help even when he was among the breathing. "I guess I just follow my gut."
Makariy Mazer [3:59 PM]
If this man she spoke of was alive she might end up going to him. Sometimes one did what they thought they never would do---especially when it came to helping those they cared about. He didn't know if this situation counted as such a thing. Her father was changed not in dire need of rescuing. Of course, that would depend on if she believed that her father was still merging with this other and that if she acted quickly she could save him. "Your friend might be a good option. He may not have all the answers, but he might have some that will point you into the right direction."
Nydia Reynolds [2:56 PM]
She sighed. It had been a long road getting over her father's death if she ever did. She could still remember it. She even remembered the day she came here to learn to fight. It was shortly after she declared that she would run her father's company not her step mother. She had just flung open the doors and walked in saying she wanted to learn to fight. She half wondered what she had looked like to him that day. "It is worth a shot. So...when you going to let me go underground to fight." It was a discussion they had before. She wanted to test her skills in a less structured place and he always said no.
Makariy Mazer [3:04 PM]
That was true, and she probably haven't, at least not truely. She might have gotten over it enough where she isn't in constant agony, but the ache of his loss will always be there. She had looked determined---like she wouldn't have accepted no. It was that determined that allowed him to decide to take her up as a student. He was not the sort to waste his time teaching those whom only wished to learn as a passing phase. Let the other dojo teach those students. His were for those whom actually wanted commitment. "It is. When I think you are ready." It was, and like before he always said the same thing. (edited)
Nydia Reynolds [3:09 PM]
Sometimes, she swore he babied her. As she eyed him. She was ready now damn him. Hell she had been ready for awhile but something keep holding him back. And she had been determined she knew it was dangerous to take her father's place and she needed to be able to look after herself and anyone that she loved. "You are a pain."
Makariy Mazer [3:14 PM]
He did not baby her anymore than any his other students. She was not ready. If she was he would have allowed her to sign up for the underground fight. He didn't know why she was determined to attend the fights. They were not as glorious as some like to think. However, that was besides the point. The point was she was not ready. She was too distracted when she fought---especially today. While he watch her train her mind was in a million different places. That was not good in the ring. More than that she didn't have the killer instinct. This was not saying she wouldn't or couldn't kill. One never know what one could do when there back was pushed against the wall, but he couldn't help thinking she would be killed before that happened. "I know."
Nydia Reynolds [3:51 PM]
That might be true but she felt otherwise. She wasn't one in it for the glory. She just knew that it was more real there. People would hurt you and it was that she was looking for the danger. Like in real life no one was going to play fair or pull their punches. It was the test of when it came down to it could she do what it takes. She rolled her eyes at him. "I should go find my friend. No time like the present to get going."
Makariy Mazer [3:58 PM]
That where she was wrong. The ring was nothing like real life. There were rules in real life. A sense of honor--even if not everyone followed it. The ring was different. There was nothing like that. The ring was brutal. It was violence. It was primal. It was the worse of nature given form. There was only one rule within the ring and that was survival. "True."
Nydia Reynolds [4:40 PM]
She was never one to put something off. It might be how she managed such a busy life. And life could be brutal. She nodded her head standing up. "See you later teach."
Makariy Mazer [4:45 PM]
Life could be brutal. It could be cruel and uncompromising, but life allowed you to take time to smell the flower if you choose. It was not so within the ring. There was only one thought within the ring, and that was survival. "See ya."
Nydia Reynolds [4:49 PM]
With that she turned and walked out the door. It was time to do some research.
