Adya Jessica Dalton [4:48 PM]
Everyone said Lucifer was winning the war. They said Earth belonged to him and his minions. Lily didn't buy it not for one moment. As long as they had the will to fight back the demons would never win. And it was her own mission to find a way to end Cain either by getting around the curse or sealing him away forever. It was to this means she found herself in enemy territory. Looking for a way to do either as she moved quietly down the corridors just another human performing some random duty. She had done this many times before going through the old archives in the library one at a time for as long as she dared before sneaking home again. This time her goal was no different as she headed towards her goal.
Quintin Devone [4:57 PM]
Lucifer was winning the war. Of course, the demons luck could change. Anyone whom have fought a war know just how quickly the tides can change. Truth be told, it might be a war that will never end, but at this moment hell had the upper hand. Lily would not be the first whom wished him dead. Some simply because of whom he was--the first murder evil incarnation that put him right next to Lucifer as the most vilest being to ever live. Whom knew he might have personally insulted her at one point of them. Dishonored her family or something like that. The reason did not matter. She will find like everyone else that any and all attempt would fail. He was moving down that hallway, pausing when he caught sight of the brunette.
Shaelyn Alwood [5:02 PM]
~ It didn't honestly matter to her whom was winning the seemingly endless war between heaven and hell. The outcome didn't change much of anything, not for her at least. Her purpose was already decided. That's what she told herself anyway. Her quiet footfalls carried her down the hall, the camera dangling around her neck explanation enough for why the blonde was walking the hallways. She came to a stop, catching sight of one of the Knights standing in the middle of the corridor and watching him for a moment. Drifting closer after that brief pause. ~ What are you looking at?
Adya Jessica Dalton [5:09 PM]
She keep her head down as she moved. It wasn't strange many humans here did that. They tried to remain small unless they were a wife or lover or pet. Those sometimes were more bold nut the sign she had taken to sneak in or her token suggested housekeeper. It allowed her access to so many places as well as making her timid behavior logical. Her eyes glanced up just a little at Shae's voice was someone looking at her? Great Cain. Not that random glances meant anything and it might not even be her he was looking at. Or if it was it might be he wanted something cleaned.
Quintin Devone [5:23 PM]
It was not her behavior that caught his attention. She was right that it was not strange. He might have walked passed her without a second glance if she didn't have that face. He turned his eyes slightly to Shaelyn. He knew of the young blonde now standing next to her. Through, he really haven't had the pleasure of meeting her. "The real question is whom am I looking at." He turned his attention back towards Lily whom noticed by now his attention. What did she think? Did she know whom he was? One didn't always know by looking upon him his identity, but those whom end up working here tended to know him on sight better than out there.
Shaelyn Alwood [5:28 PM]
~ She tended not to pay the housekeeping staff too much mind unless she needed something, not very friendly of her but she wasn't here to be everyone's best friend. She was here simply because Lucifer had declared her his personal artist and decided she should stay here. She canted her head to one side with a quizzical gleam in her eyes. ~ Okay. Whom are you looking at? ~ Her voice held a slight tease. A tone most probably weren't comfortable using upon the easily angered demon. She attempted to follow his gaze, noting the brunette girl. A housekeeper? Why was Cain staring at a housekeeper? ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [5:34 PM]
Okay. So, it seemed he was looking at her. And she did indeed know who he was because he was the enemy. She listened to the two of them for a moment before peaking. "Did you need something, Lord Cain?" She said keeping her tone as neutral as possible. She didn't know the other woman knowing not the name of every pet that came and went in this place. She supposed one could find any number of things inyrtersting about someone even a housekeeper.
Quintin Devone [5:45 PM]
Cain was not as easily angered as some might believe, or rather he wasn't a walking bomb that was set off by every little thing. So, when Shaelyn spoke to him in that tone he glance at her with a half smile tugging at the side of his lips. "I don't know." Yes, a housekeeper. Why not? A number of his lovers came from humble position. Truth be told, such a thing were true for the other knights of hell and even the princes. It wasn't that they wouldn't take a lover whom held high standing within society, but they simply realized that sometimes the most beautiful jewels could be found in the most unlikely of places. Surely, Shaelyn only position was proof of this. She was not a princess or anything of that sort, and even if she was it wasn't that which drew Lucifer attention towards her. It was her artistic abilities. "Who are you?" He decided to cut to the chase, moving towards the brunette to grab her by the chin.
Shaelyn Alwood [5:52 PM]
~ The half smile made her own lips twitch into the semblance of a grin, before her gaze turned to study the housekeeper whom had caught his attention. It was true her own background wasn't all that high, she was simply a girl with an eye for a good shot and the artistic talent to transform said photos into art. Well, if simple girls were also the half breed children of angels. ~ You don't know? ~ Her head remained tilted ever so slightly to the side. ~ Hello. Are you new here? ~ This aimed towards Lily. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [5:57 PM]
She was getting more attention than she wanted at the moment. Hell more than she wanted at any moment. And from one she didn't want it from. She reminded herself to remain calm. "I am Lily." It was a bit easier to focus on Shae so she let her gaze linger there. "A little. A few months so new enough to still get lost." She offered a polite smile towards her.
Quintin Devone [6:27 PM]
They could be, or at the very least there was nothing to say they couldn't be. "Of course not. This is the first time I encountered her and I am not all knowing." Through, her face had him wondering if he had known her, but upon hearing her name he thought that she wasn't whom he thought she was...unless she gave him a false name. That was possible, but he didn't think the person he was thinking of was capable of such deception. She was too pure for such a thing, but people did change--if she had found a way to become immortal than whom know what scars she might bare from the ordeal. "Lily what?"
Shaelyn Alwood [6:32 PM]
~ She almost thought Cain was interrogating the poor girl, it both amused her and made her lips curve into a rueful sort of smile. ~ You'll get used to it. ~ She didn't seem to be at all suspicious of her, and why should she be? Unlike Cain she didn't recognise the girl at all. She glances sideways at the demon in question. ~ No. Really? I thought you were. ~ In a manner that could in no way be taken seriously. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [6:34 PM]
It seemed this was not going to go quickly. She sighed maybe it was a sign. "I am sure I will." She didn't say she wan't going to be around that long. Cain's words made her look up. "Sutton." She said softly.
Quintin Devone [6:43 PM]
In a way, he was. It was true she had no reason to be suspicious of the female. She did not have the same connection to her face nor did she have someone she knew falling into her lap with no...wait perhaps that great big bitch sent her. It was something God would do, but the question was why? Was it her way of telling him that she hadn't truly lost her memory and punishing him for not telling her what she wished to hear? That would be something she would do. She sure hated it when someone didn't fall in line. She was a controlling little...he wished that red headed little pile of dirt was here. He could focus all his anger on her and that really would make him feel better. He pushed the thought aside and letting out a light laugh at Shaelyn's words. "Many make that mistake. " It was clear from his tone that he was matching her down. "Who hired you?"
Shaelyn Alwood [6:50 PM]
~ Perhaps Lily would be here longer than she expected, after all Shaelyn herself hadn't exactly been expecting to become a permanent resident when she'd decided to start taking pictures of the inhabitants. Mainly Lucifer himself, to turn them into artwork. None can predict how long they'd be here when they set foot through the door. ~ Darn and here I thought I was being original. ~ She chuckled softly, turning her eyes back upon Lily. Almost curious to figure out why Cain was so insistent on playing twenty questions with the girl. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [7:03 PM]
She wasn't going to be here permanently. She was here to do one thing and one thing only and no one sent her. Though she would gladly help God if she had asked. "The head of housekeeping."" She said as if he had just asked the most dumb question ever while fighting the urge to smack him. "And I had best be getting back to it."
Quintin Devone [7:11 PM]
She didn't know that for certain. Many of those whom came to permanently reside here didn't come to this place in hope of achieving such a position. Sure, some of them might have but he knew for a fact that more often than not such a thought never occurred to them. "And whom is head of housekeeping?" He didn't know why he was playing question with the girl. Perhaps, it was just the feeling that while she wasn't whom he thought she was that she wasn't whom she was pretending to be.
Shaelyn Alwood [7:18 PM]
~ She frowned, flicking her gaze towards Cain. Wouldn't he already know the head housekeepers name? Surely all the higher ups knew the identities of those in charge of their staff. It made more sense for Shae to be asking that question than the Knight. She shook her head to clear the thoughts. Next thing she'd become as suspicious as he was. ~ I think might go faster if you tell him what he wants to know. ~ She offered helpfully with a glance at the, possibly frustrated brunette. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [7:22 PM]
She got it. And di he really think she was stupid enough to come in here claiming something without taking the time to research. She almost wanted to roll her eyes. "Dorathea." She told him calmly. "Though my training was done by Maria because we all know how Dora hates spending anytime with her people." Her eye flickered towards Shae. "I have answered his questions."
Quintin Devone [7:27 PM]
He did know the head housekeeper's name, but he wanted to see if Lily knew it. He found that a good way of finding an impostor was to ask them whom was in charge of them. For some reason, many didn't think knowing this information was vital. Perhaps, it was because they didn't expect anyone to ask it. It seemed that wasn't the case with Lily. Either she was exactly what she claimed to be or as he was betting smarter than most of the imposter that came waltzing into this place. "Typically she loath spending time alone with her people, but she does make an exception for a pretty face. I take it she haven't laid eyes upon you yet."
Shaelyn Alwood [7:34 PM]
~ It must be exhausting to be suspicious of everyone, yet she supposed a healthy dose of suspicion when encountering a new face was a good thing. Yet Lily seemed to have all the right answers, which led her to again wondering why out of all the housekeepers Cain doubted this one. ~ Is she really that bad? I haven't had the pleasure of bumping into her yet. ~ She bit her lip to keep from giggling at the implication of the woman making time for pretty faces. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [7:41 PM]
Lily was serious about her mission and that meant blending in. Blending in meant knowing the culture she was blending into. Who knew it would be her face and for reasons unknown to her that would give her away. "She hired me. So yes she has." Good try. She thought looking at me. "I must not be her type." She said with a shrug suggusting she knew nothing of people's types or cared not to at any rate. The giggle made her raise her eyebrow. People here baffled her. They were always well looking for pretty faces? It was one way of putting it. Frivolous pursuits for those that were keep.
Quintin Devone [2:22 AM]
Cain was only suspicious of those whom warranted such a thing. He certainly wasn’t such with everyone. If he was he would have been eyeing Shae with the same suspension that he had for Lily. The answer why he doubted this one he couldn’t explain, at least not in a way that others were certain of understanding. It was a feeling that can’t be placed. Surely other knew that sensation—that feeling that things just don’t add up. You can’t explain why. It’s never any specific thing. This feeling had always served Cain well. He had learned never to ignore it—no matter how correct a person’s answers might be. “bad might be the wrong word, but she certainly isn’t for everyone. You have nothing to worry about as long as you commit no serious offense your position with Lucifer shall protect you” He told Shae before turning his attention back towards Lily “Is that so?” His tone made it clear he didn’t believe her “And she hired you a few months ago?”
Shaelyn Alwood [12:22 PM]
~ She believed that feeling was a gut instinct, she even understood having a gut feeling something or someone wasn't right. Where the confusion came in was the fact she could sense nothing off about the female herself, perhaps that was because she had no idea how to actually use any gifts her angelic side granted her. Or maybe it was because she wasn't as old as the Knight standing not too far from her. She tilted her head. ~ As long as possible dislike for the head housekeeper isn't a serious offence I should be fine. ~ She took a breath, then decided to simply ask him the million dollar question. ~ Cain, where is this suspicion coming from?
Adya Jessica Dalton [2:10 PM]
Lily figured Cain was being cautious. One did not live as long as he had without being careful or be a warrior of his note without a bit of healthy skepticism. It just wasn't serving her purposes. The other girl must be one of Lucifer's from what Cain had said of her being safe. "Yes. I mean about ore like seven weeks but close enough." She said keeping her gaze carefully down so not to reveal anything on accident and to appear the humble servant.
Quintin Devone [2:24 PM]
There was nothing inherently wrong with Lily. In fact, she had a different face his suspicion might not have arisen. Of course, she wasn't the first person that had a face of someone he once knew, and most of them just happened to share the same face. He wasn't certain if she had the same face for a reason or if it was just one of those things, but he was certain that she wasn't here as a simple housekeeper. "It isn't." He narrowed his eyes at Shaelyn. "Careful. You should not ask someone the reason for their suspicion in front of the one they are suspicious of" Those eyes turned towards Lily upon hearing her words. "I didn't realize Dora was hiring people from her hospital bed. She must be really dedicated to her work. I really should see about getting her a raise."
Shaelyn Alwood [2:37 PM]
~ She glanced between the pair as she waited to hear what would be said. Her brow furrowing for a moment before she smoothed the frown out, deliberately. ~ She has answered all your questions. ~ She pointed out to the demon when he spoke his warning. Though just as soon as she'd spoken the words, her eyes widened and then narrowed. ~ The head of housekeeping is in hospital?
Adya Jessica Dalton [2:46 PM]
There was a trick here she was sure of it. It was figuring out the trick. No one had said anything about Dora having been in the hospital. So, she narrowed her eyes. "If she was someone must have been pretending to be her." She replied softly. "However, seeing how you seem to not trust me perhaps I should just leave. I would hate to trouble you my lord. I will just go home and find my work elsewhere." She said with a quick bow.
Quintin Devone [3:01 PM]
"I didn't realize there was a limit to the number of questions I could ask." He snarled towards Shaelyn--his annoyance clear in more than his tone. "Just because she had answered all the questions I have asked doesn't mean I had asked them all." He nodded his head at her words. "She was." Dora was not the type to go spreading her personal business around. She only told those whom needed to know. "If that is the case than I need to figure out whom it might have been. Masquerading as someone you are not is a serious offense. " He took a step towards Lily. "Not at all. You will stay until we get to the bottom of these. You might be required to play a bigger role in capturing this criminal."
Shaelyn Alwood [3:09 PM]
~ And there was that famous temper she'd heard so much about. She folded her arms across her chest and fiddled with the strap on her camera. ~ Of course not. ~ She didn't sound meek though her tone wasn't combative. She merely acknowledged he had a point with a politeness about her. A frown marred her brow as she eyed Lily, she'd be a fool not to now feel a slight sense of unease. ~ Why would someone impersonate the head housekeeper? Wouldn't those of you who know the woman see right through the ruse?
Adya Jessica Dalton [3:20 PM]
Hmm. She thought to herself. "Huh? I don't think that is needed. I mean it seems I was not hired so I will go." Her eyes drifted towards Shae yes that would be the question. If it had been true though there could be any number of reasons for it. It appeared that Shae's game was not things like battle or intrigue. It was also clear she needed to go. Sure she could just stay and play along waiting for a chance to escape nut it was best to flee while she could. It was that moment she would see him. Just down the hall her eyes darted up in shock before quickly looking down. Why did he have to be around today of all days. Lucky for her her brother was not looking her way to busy with other things.
Quintin Devone [3:31 PM]
His rage was gone just as quickly as it came. It might have been the way Shae had merely acknowledge his point, or it might have been that he had not found her words to be too annoying. It was enough to raise his irritation, but not enough to keep it. "You will be surprised how good some are at being another." Through, that still did raise the question on why someone whould impersonate the head housekeeper as well as if he believed Lily's story. "It is. I will need a list of all those whom were hired with you. I will need to ensure that none of you share this impostor's guilt." He followed her eyes, noticing the way her eyes fell upon the man down the hall. "Do you know him?" He was tempted to call out to the man, and told him to come over here, but he did not. He kept his lips sealed.
Shaelyn Alwood [3:38 PM]
~ Lily seemed almost desperate to leave now, not that she was showing it. It was merely a hunch given she'd twice now mentioned leaving. It brought a thoughtful look to her expression. ~ Surely nobody is good enough to fool everyone. ~ She didn't think Lucifer, or any of the other Princes would be that easy to deceive. The Knight's too for that matter. Cain was certainly suspicious enough to spot a ruse. She shook her head to clear it of those thoughts and twisted to follow the direction of their gazes. An eyebrow arched. ~ Who's that?
Adya Jessica Dalton [4:10 PM]
Some people have powers that let them do just that. It is only chance or a really keen eye or a bit of luck that reveals them. Yes though no one you might say is perfect. However that can be said of those who might want to uncover them." Even The rulers of Hell could miss something. She shook her head. "Umm..no. I mean he reminded me of someone."
Quintin Devone [4:59 PM]
"Sometimes it's not about fooling everyone, but the right person. And sometimes it isn't about erasing doubt completely, but eliminating it just enough that it isn't question. There is a difference between being wary of someone and not trusting them." Would she understand what he meant. He didn't know and in the end it didn't matter. The man moved closer, allowing Cain to get a closer look at him. "One of mine" He turned his eyes towards Lily. "He has one of those faces does he?"
Shaelyn Alwood [5:04 PM]
~ She dipped her head in understanding, even if she was a little confused. Before she'd come here things like this had never been an issue she had to think about. ~ Oh. Okay. ~ She squinted at the male they were all looking at as he drifted closer. ~ One of yours? A pet or...something else?
Adya Jessica Dalton [5:08 PM]
She said nothing to his explanation because she needed not. Instead she keep her eyes on the male approaching trying not to bolt. "Worst." She said the word tumbling out of her mouth before she could stop it. And at that moment the man glanced her way and said. Lily?"
Quintin Devone [5:16 PM]
There was nothing wrong with confusion. In fact, confusion could be taken as a good thing. It meant she did not just accept things without question. Sure, sometimes he might appear to get angry at someone for questioning things, but it was never the questioning he got mad at, but the manner in which the questioning occurred. "Something like that.: He turned his eyes towards Lily, sensing her desire to bolt. "You could say that, but it is a fate he brought upon himself. " Now, his full attention was upon Lily. "You claim the man only reminds you of someone yet he seems to know your name. Who is he too you?"
Shaelyn Alwood [5:24 PM]
~ It felt as if the very air grew heavy with tension that was almost oppressive. Her gaze flitted from Cain to Lily and back again. If she was confused before, it was nothing on this moment. ~ Worse? Being claimed isn't all that bad. ~ Says the girl who willingly allowed freaking Lucifer to place a claim on her in return for lessons on her angelic heritage. Her attention rested upon Cain now. Brow furrowing as if she wished he'd explain properly. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [5:30 PM]
Lily's eyes flashed up at Shae. "Of course not. It isn't bad at all. Ever think what you might be giving up in return to 'belong' to one of them. And yes for some any price is worth it. What if you didn't want to but you had no choice and you can't even rebel because your very will is stripped away. Sound fun. Isn't all that bad. You are baby claimed compared to this. Though still belonging does mean submitting." Her eyes moved towards ain. "None of your business. That is what we are to each other." Her brother blinked and replied automatically. "She is my sister."
Quintin Devone [5:38 PM]
The way Lily responded to Shae's words allowed him to know one very important fact that whomever this man was he was important to Lily. "He is proof of my curse. You have heard of it, have you not?" Most people have heard of his curse, but there were those whom surprising had never. "I will decide what is my business." He told Lily, but he didn't need to bother asking her again because her brother would answer her. "Is that so? And what did she come to work here to be closer to her brother or was it a desire for vengeance that drove her?" He leaned towards Lily, making it clear that even if his words had been spoken to her brother that the question was directed towards her.
Shaelyn Alwood [5:44 PM]
~ Lily's words made her eyes narrow upon the girl. ~ I'm sure losing your sense of self is horrible. But the picture isn't just black and white, us and them. Remember the ones you vilify were once angels. ~ At this point she was referring to Lucifer and the fellow Princes. ~ Or people just like you that have stories you may not understand. ~ With her triade finished she flicked a gaze over toward Cain once more. ~ I mean I heard the story...God cursed you for killing your brother. But I...don't know the specifics. (edited)
Adya Jessica Dalton [5:52 PM]
She blinked at Shae before laughter would erupt from her lips. "Oh my yes. I had forgotten they were angels. Actually Cain would be part angel but details. At any rate just because they were of the divine does not mean they are not evil now. Being born an angel isn't some ticket to perfection and goodness. They rebelled against heaven. Enslaved the Earth. But yes because they were once angels it is alright." The contempt was clear in her voice. Cain caught her attention again as she looked at him. "I will find a way to end your evil. i will." That should answer his question. In part to avenge her brother and in part to free him.
Quintin Devone [6:12 PM]
"Evil is a matter of opinion." Through, he did understand what Lily meant. He didn't consider himself evil, but perhaps evil beings never did. He didn't know. He didn't even think God viewed him as evil. Sure, they fought and she thought the things he had done or still did were wrong, but he never got the feeling she believed he was beyond redemption. If she had he doubted she would have punished him in the manner that she had. "I was cursed to wander the earth for all eternity and any whom makes an attempt upon my life shares my fate. The weak are stripped of their free will. Perhaps, even their soul is destroyed in the process. I don't know. I just know they become an extension of my will and powers. They are my minions, and are apart of me in the same way that say an arm is." There was the answer to his question. He was not shocked by this revolution. Actually, he would have been shocked if she didn't come here for revenge. He smiled at her. "Good luck with that."
Shaelyn Alwood [6:22 PM]
And who decides who's good and who's evil? You're thinking in terms of black and white. The world is more complicated than that. ~ She blew out a frustrated breath before her eyes turned upon Cain, gaze brightening with a look of almost interest. ~ If people know that, why do they keep trying to kill you? Seems counterproductive to me. ~ She turned her eyes back onto Lily and shook her head almost sadly. ~ Are that desperate to share in his fate? ~ Motioning towards the female's brother. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [6:28 PM]
It was like trying to teach a blind duck to see to get this one to understand. "Say that when you don't do as your master asks. Or when you fall out of favor." She rolled her eyes looking at Cain she would let him explain it after all educating people wasn't why she had came here and for now she needed an out. So, her eyes began to scan carefully gauging the distance to the nearest door.
Quintin Devone [6:46 PM]
"Popular consensus is God or One of the princes decides such things" He rolled his shoulder as if he had no real opinion on this debate, and perhaps he didn't. "Some don't know it. They like you only heard of the story, but don't know the specific. Others believe they might be the one to do the impossible. Others do it by accident." He glanced at Lily's brother before looking towards Lily, He was certain she was looking for a way out.
Shaelyn Alwood [6:51 PM]
~ She didn't say anything further to Lily, they were just going to have to agree to disagree. Nobody was going to make Shae believe in preconceived notions of good and evil. She preferred to see things in shades of colour. Perhaps it was her artists soul. She glanced at Cain. ~ I see. Perhaps you should have a warning label. ~ She chuckled only to pause. ~ Wait...how many minions do you have now?
Adya Jessica Dalton [6:58 PM]
That was where she was a fool. Shae never said the world didn't have shades. One could be evil and do something good or vice versa. You don't kill a million people for fun for example and suddenly save one and return to murdering but suddenly that one makes you good. However like many that followed Luci she was blind to anything other than her own happiness. That had nothing to do with an artist soul and everything thing to do with a selfish one. However, her view might be tarnished by the horrors she had seen. And as he explained she made a move time to go taking a quick step before darting towards the door.
Quintin Devone [7:06 PM]
Each of their opinions on the nature of good and evil, the state of the world or anything in general were shaped by their experience. He didn't know if Shaelyn was as selfish as Lily believed, but he does believe her experience makes her see the world differently than Lily might. "I do have my mark, but you will be surprised by how many people don't realize it when they see it." He shrugged his shoulder. "Honestly I don't know. I don't keep count." He reached out to seize Lily as she made a dart towards the door.
Shaelyn Alwood [7:19 PM]
~ Was it selfish to have an idealistic view of the world? To see souls as neither good nor evil but a complex mix? If so than she'd readily admit to it. She didn't think it was though, she'd always been a little bit of a rebel, liking to push boundaries and test limits. Like most creative souls she was also a bit of a dreamer and she'd never suffered anything worse than a mother whom had abandoned her. ~ Maybe they don't understand what the mark means. ~ She shrugs her shoulders. Watching as he attempted to grab Lily as she made a break for it. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [7:24 PM]
It wasn't the idealistic view that made her selfish. It was her whole attiyude of the princes from the remember they were angels to it isn't bad to be a pet belief. The very suggestion that because it was good for her it should be good for all thus it could not be evil. However, like she said it was hard for people to see pass themselves. She mumbled as he grabbed her and reached out moving to hit him square in the face. It seemed she was going to have to fight her way out.
Quintin Devone [1:55 AM]
Cain could understand why Lily’s opinion of him. Did he agree? No. It had been her brother’s fault that he suffered his fate. It was not true of everyone whom crossed Cain’s path. He had tricked more than his far share, but such wasn’t the case with her brother. He had came to him as a hunter—a warrior. He was skilled this was true, but he had filled with a foolish notion of his abilities. He was certain he found the trick to render Cain mortal—as if he plucked the answer from the mind of God herself. He had been wrong and paid the price for it. “Those whom heard the stories but don’t know the specific certainly don’t.” He laughed when Lily hit him square in the face. This was not shocking. She had probably been raised a hunter like her brother. Yet, just as her fist was moving towards her face his was aiming towards her mid section.
Shaelyn Alwood [10:03 AM]
~ She hadn't meant for the comment to come out as selfish. It was supposed to be reassuring, of course she hadn't known the nature of the girls brother's connection to Cain when she'd spoken. It probably wouldn't have changed her opinion, despite how evil the world might view Lucifer and his cohorts she would still believe there was some good in them. To differing extents. As the fighting broke out she shuffled back a step, glancing around as if looking for someone to help. Fighter Shae was not. ~ (edited)
Adya Jessica Dalton [2:14 PM]
Yes, he had struck Cain but it was war and fighting ones enemy was a part of it. She wouldn't hurt Shae if she could help it. She wasn't one to hurt those that could not fight. But yes backing away was a good idea if only to ensure that she didn't get caught in the crossfire of the two warriors. She was amazed her blow hit as she noted his hand going towards her midsection. Moving quickly to take the blow in the side instead of the stomach she winced and whirled her blade. It was a small one but it wasn't like she wanted to kill him.
She just needed to escape. Her brother used to tease her that she didn't have the killer instincts. As kids she was always faster, caught on quicker than he did but she always seemed to hold back not wanting to truly hurt anyone. She could no longer be that girl. She moved rapidly to distract taking a stab her or there just testing. after all she just needed to create an opening to wound him enough to get away.
Quintin Devone [2:24 PM]
There wasn't anyone around to help. Those whom were there knew better than to get in Cain way nor did they have the authority to tell him to step. Even if someone with such an authority was around they would not extend it--unless for some reason they decided they wished to claim Lily. So, it was good she moved out of the way. Cain might not attack her directly, but he would take no precaution to ensure she was not hit by one of his attack. Lily's attack wouldn't have it if he had been prepared. A foolish move on his part, but not a dangerous one. Well, at least not for him. If it had been anyone else that lack of attention might have cost him his life. Luckily for him he was always one to think on the fly. It was more than that. When it came to fighting he moved without thinking. His father claimed that what made him great. He eyed the blade that Lily had removed. He doubted she ended to try to kill him. She haven't found out the secret to his curse and how to undo it. If she had she would have made the attempt by know. Yet, the appearance of the blade escalated the fight to the next level. He allowed her to take a stab here and there, blocking them but at the same time not to such a degree that no opening could be found.
Shaelyn Alwood [2:28 PM]
~ Seeing nobody that could help put an end to the fight, she backed up further until her back hit the wall. Then stood there with wide eyes, not daring to tear her eyes from the pair. How long she'd do that was anyone's guess, it was almost as if the shock had frozen her to the spot. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [2:35 PM]
She was aware of whoever might be around them. Because she didn't want to hurt another if it could be helped and in case anyone tried to jump in. No, she had not figured it out and thus caution was wise. But she also doubted jut her fist would do enough damage to someone like him for her escape. It was like a trance both moving quickly and damage being done to one or the other here or there. When she found the opening she was looking for she moved the blade stabbing up enough if hit to cause pain and hopefully bring him to his knees without being a killing blow.
Quintin Devone [2:41 PM]
He didn't care if he hurt anyone. If they got in his way that was their fault. They should have known better. He saw where the blade was aiming, but instead of evading the attack he moved just enough so when it hit it struck his heart. "I win" He told her, allowing a smile to spread across his heart. He stumbled backwards. The blow would have allowed her to take the escape that she needed--if it had hit where she had aimed. She might still be able to escape, but she wouldn't make it far before she was completely overwhelmed.
Shaelyn Alwood [2:45 PM]
~ She smart enough to know not to move, not that her frozen limbs would obey her if she'd tried. It didn't stop her from gasping when Cain stumbled backwards. Even knowing the Hell Knight was immortal didn't stop the instinctive reaction to seeing someone injured. She gaped at him for a second, before turning her eyes upon Lily, as if curious to see if the girl would get away. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [2:50 PM]
She blinked as the blade hit. "Son of a bitch." She growled at him. The bastard had made her hit a killing blow. She had been so careful not to hit the wrong spot. "Wanna bet." She told him as he stumbled backwards wondering if distance could help. She begged her legs to move as she made her way towards the door fighting the onslaught of the curse as made it to the door.
Quintin Devone [2:58 PM]
How would Shaelyn reacted if she had not been informed about his little curse? It was true he had made her hit a killing blow, but she had asked for it when she brought the knife out. She was the one whom took it to the next level. His smile spread wider upon hearing her words. "Run as far as you want, but you can't run far enough." This was true. He had one man try to get around the curse by setting a bomb inside a building, luring Cain there and setting the bomb off thousands of miles away. It had taken him some time to get to Cain and when he did his feet were a bloody mess.
Shaelyn Alwood [3:03 PM]
~ She'd probably have been far more shocked if she hadn't known he literally _couldn't_ be killed. As Lily took off for the door the half angel finally shook off her paralysis, the words Cain threw at her retreating back snapping her out of it. She shuffled over to eye the demon, noting the position of the wound unless it had healed already. ~ You did that on purpose didn't you? ~ There was no censure in her tone, Lily had known what would happen and still struck out with a knife. Seemed the girl really would share her brother's fate after all. ~ (edited)
Adya Jessica Dalton [3:25 PM]
Of course she had brought out the knife. She couldn't injury him enough with just her fists. He was freaking Cain for crying outloud. Even without his curse he wasn't just your run of a mill warrior. And yes he had tricked her the bastard. But why did he find amusement in trapping her? Was it because she wanted him dead. "I will not submit to you. And I will find a way to break it." She shouted back.
Quintin Devone [3:40 PM]
He rolled his shoulders at Shaelyn's words, making no confirmation of her accusation but he didn't deny it either. It was true she might not have escaped at this very moment without the aid of the knife, but she had now made it so she would never escape. Wouldn't it have been better to wait it out, and made her attempt at a later date when his eyes wasn't directly upon her. Oh well. "We shall see." Others have said the same thing, but so far none of them had kept to that promise. Now, was to see how much of her was consumed by his curse. He kept his eyes pinned towards her, watching to see how much her light would dim.

Shaelyn Alwood [3:47 PM]
~ She hadn't expected him to speak up in confirmation but the lack of denial spoke volumes. She blew out a soft breath as she continued to watch Lily run away. Part of her felt bad for the girl, the other part didn't know what to feel. ~ Considering this is supposed to be a curse...you seem to enjoy it far more than I think was intended. ~ She mumbled. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [3:52 PM]
They would see indeed because she was going to figure it out. However, before she moved out the door she flung the knife at him aiming right for his face. Because it wasn't like she had anything to lose at this point. It might be a blessing. She could try and kill him time and time again wasn't like she could be cursed again. Her light for the moment seemed just fine."Just try to make me obey." She shouted as she darted off.
Quintin Devone [3:58 PM]
"I made the best of the situation. Besides, I don't think this aspect of the curse was meant for me. It was meant for those whom decide to take the Will of God into their own hands." It might be more like decide they knew better than God, but either way the point still stands. Whom knows she might? Perhaps, each attempt she makes cause a little more of her light to vanish until she becomes just another mindless zombie. He didn't know. He never had a minion whom maintain any sense of elf make the attempt. "Lily, I command you to stop." It was a direct order. With those whom maintain any sense of self ordering them was like playing Simon Says expect instead of saying Simon says he tended to have to say I command you or I order you. Sometimes he could get them to do as he command just from his tone alone, but that was a choice they decided to make instead of something they had no choice upon.
Shaelyn Alwood [4:03 PM]
~ She squeaked as she noticed the knife flying towards Cain and in a effort not to get hit by it herself, ducked behind him. Peering out again once she knew it was safe. ~ Perhaps you have a point. Is she supposed to still be so defiant? ~ She asked with genuine curiosity, head tilted to one side as she waited to see what happened next. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [4:07 PM]
She was so out the door when she heard the command. A growl escaping her lips as she turned slightly her legs not wanting to move forward. "Damn it. What." She shouted at him glaring the best that she could. "in the hell do you want"
Quintin Devone [4:10 PM]
"She haven't been completely consumed by my curse." He told Shaelyn before moving towards Lily. "You said 'Just Try to make me obey' I couldn't leave you hanging."
Shaelyn Alwood [4:13 PM]
Oh. What happens when they're completely consumed? ~ She wondered aloud, not even expecting him to answer. With the exasperated words shouted toward Cain and his flippant response, she burst out laughing despite herself. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [4:20 PM]
She rolled her eyes at his words. "Jackass. Release me this instant." She told him watching him as he moved closer towards her.
Quintin Devone [1:58 AM]
Cain knew that Shae was only speaking aloud, but still he answered her question “You recall my earlier words? They are completely stripped of their free will. Whom knows their souls may be destroyed. They are nothing. Just an empty husk waiting to be filled with my will.” He laughed at Lily’s words “Now why would I do that?” He reached her in no time “I rather like you where you are at”
Shaelyn Alwood [12:14 PM]
~ She blinked, biting her lower lip to contain the laughter that had just burst forth. Tilting her head to the side she considered this for a moment. ~ I think this might be worse. ~ She nodded towards Lily. ~ Knowing you're a puppet to someone else's whims verses simply being an empty vessel awaiting commands. ~ She shrugs. ~ Don't mind me. Just thinking out loud.
Adya Jessica Dalton [1:11 PM]
She glared at Cain. "I would rather be anywhere but near you." She spat at him before hearing Shae's words. "I think being a husk is worst. While like this I can still fight back and I have my soul. Being a husk means you have nothing. You have been stripped away. But maybe it is because I would rather have hope than nothing."
Quintin Devone [1:19 PM]
"I know." He grabbed a hold of her chin, lifting it up just ever so slightly. His eyes moved towards Shae, He was going to say something along the lines of what Lily just had, but she beat him to the punch. "It is all a matter of opinion. Through, I most I have talked to does think losing your soul is worse."
Shaelyn Alwood [1:24 PM]
Of course it probably depends on the person. As I say. Just thinking out loud. ~ She still had her free will, despite her agreement with Lucifer. Perhaps in Lily's position she'd prefer being unaware of the fact she had no choice and hadn't willingly agreed to the terms of service. Whom knew. She'd only just learned Cain's minions were different from the pets the others kept. ~
Adya Jessica Dalton [1:27 PM]
"Besides, being a husk means you lost. The curse has consumed you and you now live only for him. I personally don't want to lose." She said with a shrug as he grabbed her chin and growled at him. "Don't touch me, demon."
Quintin Devone [1:46 PM]
"I know." He was aware that she had been talking aloud, but sometimes you just had to respond regardless if the statement was directed towards you, Whom knows she might, or she might like Lily decide that losing her soul was actually worse. He did have pets in the manner that others kept, but not as many. He leaned forward brushing his lips against her. It wasn't a kiss. It was a taunt. "You should remember your place." He moved away from her. "I command you to move around as you will, but only inside this compound."
Shaelyn Alwood [1:51 PM]
~ She lifted one shoulder in a half shrug, flicking her gaze between them. ~ Well...good luck trying to best him. It looks like you're going to need it. ~ She pressed her lips together, anything to keep amusement from showing upon her face. She had zero doubt that Cain was enjoying taunting his new plaything. There were probably going to be fireworks around here with how often they'd butt heads. ~ (edited)
Adya Jessica Dalton [1:56 PM]
She wanted to bite him when his lips brushed against hers instead she just looked at him. Her eyes saying really at his taunt. She nodded at Shae's words. She had always expected going up against Cain would be hard. She was ready for the fight. She mumbled at his words. At least she could wander away from him even if it was only within this place. Any distance was better than none. With his words she turned and darted down the hall time for a little distance and with that she was gone.
Quintin Devone [2:06 PM]
"More so now than before." Oh, there was going to be fireworks, but he had a sure of way of ending every argument they had. A way he wasn't afraid to use if he had to. He watched her wonder off, making no attempt to run after her. He turned his eyes towards Shaelyn. "It was a pleasure meeting you."
Shaelyn Alwood [2:12 PM]
~ Her lips twitched upwards, quirking into a smile as the girl disappeared so quickly down the corridor. Her smile became a chuckle as Cain spoke exactly what she'd been thinking when she offered her words. ~ Indeed. Be careful with that one. She's fiery. ~ She smoothed her expression back into one of politeness and dipped her head in acknowledgement. ~ Likewise. I should be off though. ~ She held up her camera and added. ~ Need more reference images. Boss man will probably grow tired of looking at variations of the same theme otherwise.
Quintin Devone [2:18 PM]
He just nodded his head at Shaelyn words before moving on his way.
Shaelyn Alwood [2:20 PM]
~ Heads off in the opposite direction without another word. ~
