Aureline Rose [4:59 PM]
She stopped walking suddenly to pick the wildflowers. Why? Was anyone's guess. She had stopped many times on her trip home with her new friend for various reasons. Sometimes to climb a tree once to see who rolled faster. It was decided he rolled straighter but she rolled faster making it a tie. So this really was no actual surprise.
Cyrren Lyvanna [5:06 PM]
Rhodri knew the answer to why she picked wildflowers, and it was simply because she could. What other reason would there be? What other reason should they be? The trip to Eiriol had been an amusing one. They stopped for no other reason than their whim. Whom can climb a particular tree fast or a body of water just looked too inviting to pass up. Yet, it was these seeming random decision that made the journey that much more fun.
Aureline Rose [5:13 PM]
A man passing by stopped suddenly and said. "You there stop that those are Lord Cesare's flowers." She blinked at his words and replied. "Really?" Before bending down and yanking flowers and grass and flinging them in the air with a gleeful smile. The man frowning as he said. "He won't be liking that." As she replied. "Well he stare at me like this?" She said doing her best imitation of her son in law and his unamused look. Before she glanced back at Rhodri giggling. "My son in law is going to spank me."
Cyrren Lyvanna [5:20 PM]
"I don't see his name on them." Rhodri uttered in response to the man's words. He plucked one of the flowers, turning it over in hand every which way as if examining it for some kinda seal that marked them as property of Cesare. "I say we pick all the flowers than drop them all at his feet. If he's going to spank you for playing in his garden might as well go big."
Aureline Rose [5:26 PM]
"Right. I mean so many pretty colors on the ground. It is like we are making a beautiful picture." The man stared at them both as he went mumbling off and she broke out laughing. "However welcome to Damask lands."
Cyrren Lyvanna [5:36 PM]
"We are." He waved at the man wandering off and mumbling as he went. "I have been here before, but thank you." Only a smile showed his amusement.
Aureline Rose [5:38 PM]
"I figured one should always say welcome. Someone taught me manners somewhere along the way. I just forget then whenever trees or horses are about." She told him with a nod. "And maybe flowers." She said looking around.
Cyrren Lyvanna [5:43 PM]
"We were all taught manners. It is just some of us choose not to obey them as readily as others might wish." He glanced around before sliding one of the flowers he plucked behind her ear.
Aureline Rose [6:11 PM]
She giggled. "True enough. Come on. Not too much further to my father's estate now." She called out as she started to march down the path.
Cyrren Lyvanna [6:15 PM]
"How excited will your father be to see you?" He followed after her, wondering how close she was to her family and yet knowing the answer. Well, at least from what he had gathered of the Damask family. They were as tight-knit as any family and more than some.
Aureline Rose [4:46 PM]
"Hmm. Some. He might be nervous as well but excited because last time I was her I had sort of declared war on my husband." It had certainly been a crazy time she thought as Dasmask castle came into view. https://vlv-mag.com/en/assets/img/Puteshestviya/2018/9-vipusk/zamki/izvestniye-zamki-006-min.JPG

Cyrren Lyvanna [4:49 PM]
"He doesn't like your husband or is this just the whole infamous Lyvanna Dasmask rivalry?" When wasn't it a crazy time? He thought as the castle came into view. It sure was beautiful---different than the Lyvannian castles. He had always loved the Dasmask castle. They felt airy yet at the same time solid. He wasn't certain how to explain it.
Aureline Rose [4:59 PM]
"It was more a personal issue between me and the king when our youngest died. He thought I was losing my grip and needed to be closed away I took offense and decided his lack of showing emotion as not caring. He took my refusal to listen as one thing. We argued words were said I declared myself a Damask and fled for home. We ave our issues you could say. I think that is what part of this trip is about. For so long my identity has been tied up with being Queen Eiriol that I wonder where that girl went Eiriol Damask."
Cyrren Lyvanna [5:14 PM]
"Ah." He uttered in complete understanding. Losing a child was hard, and each dealt with that lose within their own way. "Every couple have their own issues." Some clearly worse than others. "And did this journey help you get onto the path on figuring out whom you are?"
Aureline Rose [5:22 PM]
"I am working on it? I guess I just sort of started feeling like I didn't have an identity outside of wife and mother and with my kids all growing up. Well...I just can't fantom sitting around and knitting or something."
Cyrren Lyvanna [5:51 PM]
"That is something. I imagine most women feel like that. Your identity is so wrapped up in those two roles that it might be hard to imagine whom you are without them." Men were encouraged to pursue other things beside fatherhood, and well other women might turn their focus upon their grandchildren--becoming those overbearing mother-in-laws that everyone hates. Rhodri could not see Eiriol becoming such a women. Oh, he believed if she had grandchildren she would dot upon them. There was no question about that. "I don't know. I could fantom you doing such a thing simply for the fact it would be unexpected."
Aureline Rose [5:58 PM]
"I might knit funeral clothes for all my enemies and let them guess what that meant. But I highly doubt it." She said with a smile. "I was quite the umm...umladylike lady when I was young. Always getting dirty or saying things I shouldn't."
Cyrren Lyvanna [6:12 PM]
"Like I said it would be unexpected." He could imagine her doing everything but as long as it was under her terms. If she knitted it would not be because that was expected of it, but rather because she enjoyed the hobby. He could even see her doing it out of spite---simply because someone told her that she couldn't. He would never do such a thing. Well, only in a teasing manner and she would know he was only egging her on to get her to do something they both knew she would never do unless it was being issued as a challenge. "Sounds like every child I know."
Aureline Rose [8:45 PM]
She laughed. "Might be. Though I was told it should have quite stopped when I told a young king Cy that I wasn't coming down to take to him because he was ruining my day as a teen." She said with a grin. "I think he picked me because I was stubborn."
Cyrren Lyvanna [9:22 PM]
"That might be. You are equal parts beautiful as you are stubborn." He paused, considering the truth of this for a few moments before adding. "If I dare say that stubbornness makes you even more beautiful. I would have been surprised if the king Cyrren had not seriously considered you as a potential wife. I imagine that you were the envy of many women not just because you held the king's attention in a manner they only wished but they realized they could never compare to you."
Aureline Rose [9:30 PM]
The lightest brush formed across her face. "I thought so once. I thought just think a man like that pick me. I was hardly worthy. The daughter of a lesser lord with little to offer but wild hair crazy big eyes and spunk. Yet I got picked and it felt like winning. But I don't know about others not comparing because they must because he is constantly seeking out more."
Cyrren Lyvanna [10:00 PM]
He smiled slightly at that brush forming upon her face. "Yet, he made none of them his queen." He knew that such a thing might mean little to her when she only see her husband constantly sharing his bed with women that aren't his, but she had what many of those women wanted--to be queen of Lyvanna and to hold the place as first within the king's heart. It was not a position they would ever achieve. They could not promise him a son when the queen had failed to give him one. She had provided him four. It might not have been as many as one might hope, but it was enough to secure the line of succession. Truth be told from what Rhodri gathered most had not managed to keep his attention for long. He dismissed them as fast as he brought them in.
Aureline Rose [10:24 PM]
She sometimes wasn't sure she had a place in his heart other than the obvious connection they had as parents. There really was just so many of them. So many she thought as they came to the path leading to the castle. She took a few steps when she suddenly doubled over.
Cyrren Lyvanna [10:34 PM]
Rhodri couldn't say for certain, but he liked to imagine that Eiriol had found that special place within Cyrren's heart long before she had given birth to their first child let alone their first son. The thought flew out of his mind upon seeing her suddenly doubled over. He rushed to her side. "Eiriol?"
Aureline Rose [10:37 PM]
That really hurt. She thought to herself. "I am okay. Wait..." She said as the pain returned and she fell to her knees. "That really hurts." She said staying there rocking. "Can you get me to the castle?"
Cyrren Lyvanna [10:52 PM]
He frowned at her words. He didn't know about that, but he didn't wish to say anything lest that flared up her stubbornness, and cause her to attempt to prove she was fine even through they both knew that wasn't the case. That was the last thing he wished to do. He stayed where he was at, waiting for her to realize what he already knew was true that she was not fine. "I can" Without a second word he lifted her up, carrying her within his arms like she was a newborn babe.
Aureline Rose [10:59 PM]
She just sighed she hated needing help but doubted she could walk like this. So she let him pick her up. "My hero." She said in a weak teasing voice.
Cyrren Lyvanna [11:07 PM]
He imagined that she was not happy with the fact she realized walking might be out of the question at this moment. He smiled at her words as he carried her into the castle.
